Hillel Academy is a unique institution in Broome County.  We are a fantastic school with wonderful, inquisitive and curious children. Our teachers are experienced, highly trained, professional, creative, dedicated and devoted to our children. We teach Jewish texts and instill Jewish values, and enable the children to excel in their General program.

Many schools can say the same thing.  And some of them really do it!  What makes Hillel unique is that we are even more than a school – we are a family. Located in a small Jewish community, we are the one place that Jews from all synagogues and temples, affiliated or not, join together in common purpose.  Everyone involved with the school is committed to their children’s education and the continuity of the Jewish community.  The school encourages this attitude by creating an environment that is inclusive and accepting of all irrespective of religious affiliation and level of practice, socio-economic position and individual personal choices.

It doesn’t end there. Opportunities are created where older children and younger one’s have the opportunity to interact with each other. Middle School students assist the younger ones and primary children entertain the older students.  Children learn to interact positively with their peers and those in other classes equally.  Parents who may differ greatly in their own lifestyle join together for the common good, creating new relationships and learn to respect one another for their similarities and their differences.

Beyond the social dimension of a family, Hillel is committed to the academic growth and advancement of each of its students.  Our students excel in all curricular areas.  Small classes enable us to achieve what larger schools cannot.
