Hillel Academy of Broome County is a Jewish day school that serves and educates children in grades K-8 in an all day program. Admission is open to all Jewish children as defined and accepted by any of the Jewish congregations and temples in the community.
Hillel encourages admission beginning in Kindergarten in order to allow the child to take full advantage of the excellent and challenging dual program offered by the school. Children must be 5 years old by December 1 to be admitted to the Kindergarten class. Under special circumstances we will admit children who will attain the age of 5 years after that date, after the school receives and evaluates required professional recommendations. Please contact the school office to discuss those specific requirements.
Hillel Academy accepts students transferring from other schools at all grade levels after review of appropriate educational reports and evaluation of the child’s ability to succeed in all curricular areas. The school works closely with parents who relocate to the community in order to enable the child and family to participate in the unique educational experience that Hillel offers.
As a private school, Hillel Academy charges tuition and fees to all parents in order to meet our expenses. The current tuition schedule is available from the school office.
Hillel Academy recognizes that not all parents can afford to pay full tuition, especially in situations where more than one child is in attendance at any one time. Hillel does not turn away eligible children because of a parent’s inability to pay full tuition. Forms and information regarding the confidential procedure to apply for a tuition reduction may be obtained from the school Principal, below.
For more information about enrolling your child, please contact Rabbi Zev Silber, Principal of Hillel Academy, at 607-722-9274 or hillel@stny.rr.com
